Past Events/News and Notes

Tuesday, June 2, 7:30. Met at Gayle's house. Shared joys and concerns, discussed future plans (in particular, summer schedule), set near-future plans and for program, shared how each of our families plans to spend our summer. The consensus seemed to be "cost effective" vacationing, with many of us staying close to home. In attendance: Jane (HAPPY BIRTHDAY), Sue, Kathy, Gayle, Laura, and Evol. Our collection tonight was new/gently used boy's clothing for 180 Turning Lives around (not sure how much; several bags of clothing collected; some dropped off earlier).

Tuesday, May 5, 7:30. Met at Evol's. Maria led a discussion on issues of concern to women and families, with information about Monmouth County's program. In attendance: Evol, Sue, Suzanne, Maria, Gayle, Kathy, Nancy, Jane and Laura. Mission activity: We collected nine used cell phones (with chargers) to be used for domestic abuse situations (cell phones can dial 9-1-1 even when not activated). We also shared joys/concern and prayer, conducted regular business (reports) and set summer meeting schedule.

**Note: we received the following note from Jim Benedict of Open Door Lunch program:
Dear Family Church Members/Esther Circle:
"Thank You" so very much for all the hard work that went into making the awesome sandwiches for the soup kitchen (Open Door Lunch Program). What a generous donation that was. A real gift from the heart. We are so grateful for your kindness! Helping the "unfortunate" is so rewarding. May God bless all of you and your family for your wonderful gift.
Yours in Christ's Love, Jim and Pat Benedict.
